Back when Hybrid Theory came out I was a huge fan of Linkin Park and that had much to do with their connection to KoRn.
If you had something to do with KoRn you were instant cool in my book. It took only the next album to figure out they weren’t all that. Don’t get me wrong the second album was a good one but it didn’t hold anything new so I lost interest real fast.

Day 58 – Let’s go surfing

The drums sounds very indie and not at all very original in my opinion.
They did score a hit with let’s go surfing mostly due to its great hook in the chorus. They lost my vote when I saw them live and they refused to play let’s go surfing because they felt it got to much attention in comparison with their other songs.
Now if you’re a band like the Beatles or the Rolling Stones and your music catalogue is so huge people will not notice the absence of 1 hit I can understand that, but lets be honest the drums are no Beatles/Rolling Stones and they will never be.

Day 57 – Fly me to the moon (in other words)

As often with Jazz standards it is hard to find a definite version.
I chose the most famous one by Frank Sinatra because that’s the version most people will know. The song was actually written 10 years before Frank’s version by Bart Howard and recorded by a dozen artists before. My version was also with a personal twist to the original because one tend to do that with jazz songs. I hope you liked my version too.

Day 56 – Anthem for the year 2000

If Nirvana was from Australia they would simply be called Silverchair.
Although their sound evolved over the years their biggest succes came when they were still grunge.
I always loved the band but hated Daniel Johns for being on every girls wall back in the 90′s. Later on he even got married with Natalie Imbruglia to top it all… Some guys have just everything. But despite me being jealous of his good looks I always found him an underrated guitarist which is a shame.

Day 55 – I believe in a thing called love

You either love them or hate them but you can’t deny that the darkness are talented musicians.
And what about bringing back glam… When it’s brought in such a nice way I don’t mind at all. Those solo’s alone should earn them enough credit to continue their thing forever.
Justin is back after getting his act together again which lead to the groep reforming. I hope they can continue as strong as they were.
