  1. Day 102

    April 11, 2012 by Nic

I’m only just testing my fretless bass so I used this tune to do so.

    Hope you can guess it!

  2. Day 100

    April 9, 2012 by Nic

It’s the 100th day of my riffaday project and to celebrate it I made a little bit different riff than normal.

I made a adaptation for tapping bass of a very famous piece. Hope you like it!

  3. Day 91

    March 31, 2012 by Nic

I always get eargasms when I listen to this band.

Now every drummer, every guitar player and every bass player is jealous of these guys and rightly so!

  4. Day 90

    March 30, 2012 by Nic

I got a left over bass (yeah I got some of those too :p) converted to a fretless one yesterday and needed to do a cover with it.

This one is from my favourite movie of all time.

Let me know if you liked it or not…

  5. Day 84

    March 24, 2012 by Nic

It’s a very nice day over here in sunny Belgium!

So that calls for some sunny vibes in the riffaday too.

  6. Day 83

    March 23, 2012 by Nic

I hope you’re up for a challenge today!

This funky bassline was used as the theme song for a blockbuster but was actually sampled from a 80s soul hit. Although the original is a half tone higher than the one I’m playing it’s essentialy the same thing.

Can you guess the movie or the original?

  7. Day 80

Best bassline of the last ten years!

    Enjoy it!

  8. Day 76 – Groove is in the heart

    March 17, 2012 by Nic

Ow and a Ow! Groove is definitely in the heart!

Funky house with Bootsy – bassmaster – Collins in the video. I presumed that he played the bass for Deee-lite in this song but I was wrong. Bootsy only does the cameo and says some silly things on the track but doesn’t play the bass. The bassline is actually a sample from a Herbie Hancock song called Bring down the birds.

Now go impress your pubquiz buddies with this information.

  9. Day 76

    March 16, 2012 by Nic

Party music for party people, everybody say Yeah!

    Yeah!

  10. Day 74

    March 14, 2012 by Nic

I needed a 5-string bass, a capo and some tapping to pull this one of so I hope you like my effort here.

Needless to say that the song is normally not played this way. I tried to emulate the sound of a harpsichord and some piano bass notes.
